Although Microsoft has introduced basic archiving and discovery functionality to Exchange 2010 there are still some real world challenges that will remain for organisations investing in this platform.
Hosted by Metalogix in conjunction with archiving experts Essential, this webinar highlights the 5 key areas that companies need to explore to see if Exchange alone will meet their on-going email storage and records management needs.
Also hear why 2 UK companies (one public, one private) decided to leverage Metalogix Archive Manager – Exchange Edition with their Exchange 2010 email system in order to meet their email needs.

Learn to optimize your SharePoint storage by moving binary-large-objects (BLOBs) out of the SQL database. Significantly improve SharePoint performance and decrease expensive SQL storage. Removing BLOB’s from SharePoint has become a popular subject recently but there are still many myths and some uncertainty about how best to implement a solution of this nature. Steve will demonstrate how easy it is to remove BLOBs from SharePoint with Metalogix StoragePoint, as well as implement archiving and hierarchical storage management.

If you are considering a move to Exchange 2010, find out how archiving first can reduce risk and speed your transition. Patrick Dowling will discuss how the fastest, easiest, and safest way to migrate valuable Exchange email to Exchange 2010 is by archiving it first into a secure, policy-managed repository capable of interfacing to any version or implementation of Exchange. Patrick will also discuss how external archiving functionality complements Exchange 2010 to meet industry standards for Exchange performance and for legal compliance with secure data retention and rapid eDiscovery. Patrick will also demonstrate the functionality of Metalogix Archive Manager - Exchange Edition and show how it can be configured and deployed to meet the needs of Enterprise customers before they migrate to Exchange 2010.

Learn from Office 365 MVP Chad Mosman who will discuss and demo the manual approach for migrating data from SharePoint and Public Folders to Office 365, and the best practices and reasons for mitigating risk by using a more automated solution. Stephen Cawood, SharePoint MVP, will show how Metalogix helps make all the difference in minimizing the interruption to your business users. Exchange 2010 has impressive and valuable new functionality. However, for many, the difficult process of planning and implementing a large-scale email migration from earlier versions of Exchange is a deterrent. Many aren’t aware that the fastest, easiest, and safest way to migrate valuable Exchange email to Exchange 2010 is by archiving it first into a secure, policy-managed repository capable of interfacing to any version or implementation of Exchange. Furthermore, Exchange 2010 benefits significantly from external archiving functionality to meet industry standards for Exchange performance and for legal compliance with secure data retention and rapid eDiscovery.
In this webinar, IDC Analyst Laura DuBois will discuss the clear direction the market is taking towards Exchange 2010 adoption and the drivers and requirements for comprehensive email archiving. Patrick Dowling will discuss the benefits of a third-party archiving solution and demonstrate the Metalogix functionality and show how it can be configured and deployed to meet the needs of Enterprise customers before they migrate to Exchange 2010.

File shares continue to present a problem for both Business and IT and over the last few years there have been several attempts to improve the situation through the use of sophisticated storage devices that employ additional specialised management features. Unfortunately most of the time this merely masks the problem that we are trying to solve - namely improving the use and easing the management of information assets. Matt Koch from Metalogix will demonstrate how StoragePoint Librarian addresses the real problem by rapidly importing file share content to SharePoint in order to take advantage of the collaboration and information management features of Microsoft’s popular ECM platform.

For Exchange Standard users, driving over 65 is a guaranteed accident. Even for small businesses, most Exchange users can count on their accumulated email data to race towards the 100GB (and even 1TB!) milestones. Unfortunately for users of Exchange Standard Edition, Exchange will literally stop working as the quantity of email data, including attachments, reaches a critical threshold of 70 GB. Driving close to this speed limit at, say, 65GB can result in system failure and a highly visible, costly interruption to your organization.. Rebuilding Exchange servers is never a pleasant task. As we discuss in this Webinar, it is particularly difficult to rebuild a system at 65GB as the administrator must draw on prior backup generations and perform manual synchronization from journals. We will discuss not only the pain of this scenario, but also the way to avoid it completely through integration of an Exchange archiving solution.
